We are Pétanque enthusiasts (men and women) who play at two different times.   On the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays at Portside Park next to Portside community at 2:30 p.m. We do Happy Hour after the 3rd Wednesday play. We are located off Harbor and Navigator. We play on the side gravel pathways of the Volleyball court area.

We also meet on the  2nd and 4th Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m.  at Portside Park.      Ventura Petanque was started in September 2018.  We give free lessons (you can borrow our "boules") and then you can obtain your own "boules" online at very reasonable prices.

Pétanque is an easy game to learn.  It orginated in Marseilles, France in 1907. The object is to get closest to the target ball (boule).  Each boule closest to the "Jack" or "cochonnet" gets a point. We play to a specific number of points.
The word Pétanque means "anchored" feet.  It is played on gravelly dirt  found anywhere within the distance of 20-32 feet.  Anyone can play this game...from the youngest to the oldest!  You can play it anywhere there is a dirt/gravel flat surface.
You will LOVE this easy to learn and easy to play outdoor fun game. Play on any compact dirt area with family and friends.
